Become a Volunteer
Oak Ridge has a long standing tradition of parent volunteerism. Parenting a school age child is the first level of involvement. Helping your child get to school on time, practice good personal hygiene and get in a homework and reading routine is the most important way to help Oak Ridge. Once you’ve got that mastered, the next step is to volunteer at the classroom level.
- Help your child’s teacher weekly or monthly.
- Drive on a field trip
- Help with the Art Vistas program. Parents can help with or lead pre-planned lessons. Art supplies are provided by a team of hard-working parent leaders. This puts you in the classroom with your child so you can get to know their peers and teacher and really see them in action.
- Be a room parent
The next way to help is with our larger community events. Volunteers will play a vital part in our ability to have a successful Movie Under the Stars Night and the big WALK-A-THON. Our community events simply wouldn't happen without amazing volunteers.
The final way to help is to lead a committee or event at Oak Ridge. You can jump into leadership whenever you are ready.
